Our Texas Invasion 13s National team and Coaches Flavio and Crystal, participated in the Winterfest tournament this past weekend. The victories were sweet and the gold was sweeter. 

On Saturday, the team went 5-1, losing only one set against the Arsenal 13 Blue.  But the loss was small and the team didn't let it hold them back. The girls went on to a clean sweep victory over Blocksport 13 National. 

Finishing in the number one spot, Sunday started with a bye to watch the Assault 13 Blue and Tx Image Tigers. Coach Flavio's team took on the Assault team with a vengeance.  After crushing the Assault team in the first set, the Invasion girls let off a little in their quest for the gold and fell, losing the second set.  However, after a motivational speech from both Flavio and Crystal, the girls came back for the win in the third set. The team moved on to the championship round and faced the  360 13 Red team. Pumped and ready to win, the team fought through together. There were bad rotation calls, a ball stuck in the ceiling, hateful parents from the opponents, but in the end our 13s came out with the sweet taste of victory! They beat 360 after another three set battle and took home the GOLD! 

This is the second tournament for this team, and for some, it was their second tournament ever played.
